Paris, late afternoon. The light here is soft, blue-tinted, diffusing through high ceilings and glass panes to fall across long indoor swimming pools, white tiles reflecting pale sky, geometric walls, metal railings, and the occasional splash of red or orange. Ludwig Favre works in these spaces: Olympic-sized pools framed by minimalist architecture, corridors with two-tiered blue railings, spectator seats empty save for the faintest traces of water and movement. The palette is clean, whites, blues, the occasional yellow or grid-patterned ceiling, interrupted only by figures: skaters in red jackets suspended mid-air, a lone orange toy floating on clear blue water. What accumulates is a sense of stillness within motion, the quiet rhythm of pools and corridors under artificial light.
