On a 2023 trip to Hong Kong, Ludwig Favre photographed a basketball court cradled by towers, painted lines on warm asphalt, an isolated rectangle of color in a vertical city. The frame is graphic and almost abstract, holding the court level and letting the geometry do the work. The image is the second in a small Hong Kong series on the city's painted public surfaces, part of Favre's wider interest in how Asian cities organize their leftover space.
