Ludwig Favre photographs Ocean Beach, San Francisco, on a morning when the fog has not yet decided to leave. The Pacific is the color of slate, the sand the color of paper, a single line of surf doing the work of horizon. Favre returns to this stretch of California coast regularly; it is one of the last quiet edges of a famously photographed city. Part of his ongoing Pacific coast series.
