Ludwig Favre photographs a corner storefront painted with a band of rainbow color, weathered enough to read like a piece of accidental geometry. The image belongs to his ongoing series on urban color fields, walls and façades whose paint has, over the years, turned them into incidental abstract works. Favre photographs them straight on, with no irony, treating the painted city as a quiet, free, open-air gallery.
