Ludwig Favre photographs the TWA Hotel at JFK, the 1962 terminal designed by Eero Saarinen and reborn as a hotel in 2019. The image holds the building's signature curve, the chili-red carpet, the white concrete arches that turned travel into ceremony. Favre returns regularly to mid-century airports and hotels, treating them as monuments to a particular kind of American optimism. Pictured here, the central rotunda in early afternoon light.
