Ludwig Favre photographs one of the red-carpeted flight tubes of the TWA terminal at JFK Airport. A lone traveler walks away, suitcase in hand, beneath the oval sign that still bears the airline's name. The curved white walls close in, the carpet pulls the eye toward the light at the far end, and Saarinen's architecture becomes a corridor of memory. The image belongs to his archive of mid-century spaces, where color holds the ghost of purpose.
