Ludwig Favre photographs a classic American car parked under a palm in Palm Springs, the chrome taking the desert sun the way only chrome from that decade can. The image is part of his ongoing California series on the cars that mid-century Palm Springs was designed around, Lincolns, Cadillacs, low-slung coupes, parked between low-slung houses. Favre approaches each car as a still life, level and quiet, holding the frame still until the light has settled.
