The golden hour light on Manhattan’s waterfront, just after noon, flattens the skyline into a haze while warming brick facades and wooden boardwalks. Ludwig Favre works the line between the ferry docks and Coney Island’s closed amusement stalls, where sunlight falls in long slants across striped awnings and red-brick storefronts. The color palette is narrow,ochre brick, faded indigo sky, the cool blue of distant water,but the light shifts with the hour: warm on the boardwalk, soft through diner windows, bright against fluorescent signs. Figures appear in these frames not as subjects but as inhabitants: cyclists passing fire escapes, diners at counters, a lone bench-sitter gazing at the river.
