Late summer on the boardwalk at Coney Island. The light falls in long, warm rectangles across the wooden planks and neon signs, illuminating the crowd with a diffused glow that softens the edges of the city. Ludwig Favre works in the spaces between the amusement rides and the ocean, where the sky meets the sea under a clear blue expanse. The palette shifts from the faded reds of weathered brick buildings to the bright yellow of vintage signs, the green of potted plants lining the sidewalks, and the cool gray of metal railings. Figures move in and out of the frame, pedestrians on sunlit alleys, a lone cyclist leaning against a café sign, a woman with a small dog crossing a quiet intersection, each captured at the angle from which the city sees them.
