    Ludwig Favre captures a solitary surfer gliding across a breaking wave at Oceanside. A white crest of foam against the pale, muted tones of the Pacific. Another figure waits in the distance, a dark silhouette suspended in the stillness between sets. The water reflects a soft, diffused light, flattening the horizon into a seamless expanse. This work is part of his Southern California series, an exploration of the coast where human presence is reduced to a geometric element within the vastness of the ocean.
